Mana-Thai Cuisine in Mount Kisco, NY

Alright foodies!  Today I was lucky enough to go my favorite Thai restaurant - Mana-Thai Cuisine in Mount Kisco.  The restaurant is not large, seating perhaps 15 people, but don't let the unassuming interior fool you - Mana, the chef and namesake of this restaurant, serves dishes with a huge flavor flavor that cannot be ignored.  My lady and I both LOVE Thai food. and we enjoy having it as often as possible, which isn't nearly often enough.

I first noticed this restaurant cruising up Route 117 in Mount Kisco over a year ago.  I thought to myself, "A Thai restaurant in Mount Kisco?" and made a note to check out the place as soon as I could. Once I tried it out, I had to bring my lady to sample Mana's food, to see if she agreed with my assessment.  A new fan was born, and we both have been going to Mana-Thai ever since.

                                                                               On this beautiful day, we came by for an early dinner, a little after 4PM, and had a couple of delicious items, that we'd love to show you.

First things first, the lady always enjoys ordering a nice Thai Iced Tea.  If you've never had this kind of tea before, it's kind of hard to describe - It has an earthy taste and dark orange color that looks beautiful and complements the food nicely.  As is traditional, it is mixed with dairy and resembles carrot juice once mixed together.  Very tasty to be sure, and the perfect thing to cut the spice!

As an appetizer, we ordered the Chicken Satay.  The chicken's texture is just awesome - crisp on the outside very slightly, but soft and juicy on the inisde.  It comes served with some delicious Satay sauce and a nice Cucumber sauce as well.  Super tasty.  You get 4 pieces, enough for 2 people to have a nice nibble before the main course arrives.

We didn't get it this time but I can also reccomend the Tom Kha Gai soup - you may have remembered that I myself make this - it's my favorite Thai soup!

For an idea of what this soup tastes like.  While I like my recipe, Mana does it better.  Come to think of it, I wish I'd ordered a bowl this time around.. oh well, I guess I'll just have to come back :) !

Pad Ki Mao or Drunken Noodles.  Incredible!

Our favorite part of the meal however, is the Entrees.  Each time me and my lady come, we fight over who is going to order the Pad Ki Mao.  This dish - is just incredible.  We have not had a better Pad Ki Mao, anywhere.  This dish, otherwise known as Drunken Noodles, is seemingly very straightforward - but is so delicious it's ridiculous.  The dish has the wide rice noodles, broccoli, peppers, onions, Thai basil.. and we're not sure what else.  But it's fantastic.  We love many of the other dishes too, but the Pad Ki Mao is just so slap-you-in-the-face good that we're always sure to order at least one portion.  At times, we've both ordered it - but it's more fun to get more than one dish, so you can share the flavors. 

These pictures don't do the dish justice.  But hopefully they give you an idea of how tasty it is.  We just had this a few hours ago and my mouth is watering again already just looking at it :)  We ordered this dish with chicken, but you can order it with beef or other add-ins as well.

As far as my Entree, I ordered the Green Curry Chicken.  Mana's Green Curry is a spicy treat to be sure - if we don't order the Pad Ki Mao, we usually order this :)  This pungent dish comes with a side of rice so that you can be sure to consume all of the delicious green curry sauce.  If you've never had a Thai curry, it's a completely different beast than Indian or Jamaican curry - the green curry is made with fresh green chilis and is not for the faint of heart!  I'm somebody who enjoys spicy food, so this isn't too hot for my tastes - it's just right :)

All of the dishes here can be ordered with whatever spice level you want, so don't be scared if you're somebody who's not into spicy food - Mana is an incredible chef and he can surely make you something suitably tasty that will blow your mind :)

For those of you who love spice, there is a hot sauce caddy on the counter that you can use to spice up your dish.  

Anyhow, that was our visit to Mana-Thai today.  Delicious to be sure, as always.  If you're ever in Westchester county and are looking for the genuine Thai food, you need look no further than Mana-Thai cuisine in Mount Kisco, NY.  Who knows, maybe I'll see you there! :)
