It's been years since we've met Espolon - Welcome back home :)
The bottle of Espolon Tequla Blanco
Espolon Tequila Blanco is a premium tequila - that is to say, it's made from 100% pure Blue Agave cactus. If you dislike tequila as many people do or have only ever had cheap varieties like *shudder* Jose Cuervo, you owe it to yourself and your palette to try Espolon.
100% Pure Agave tequila is the only way to go!

So what DOES it taste like you ask? Well.. it tastes like agave cactus :) But specifically, the agave flavor compared to many of these nice type tequilas is rather mild.. there are overtones of citrus, vanilla and spice.. maybe pepper? It's hard to say. It's also not that "hot" of a tequila - the alcohol burn is really toned down, not too offensive to be sure.

The lady also now enjoys margaritas now that she's tried them with Espolon, which is a feat in and of itself :) When comparing it to a margarita made with Patron Anejo, she identified the "Anejo" flavors, opining that "This is why is haven't liked margaritas in the past." Or it could be that she just doesn't like Patron tequila, which I really can't fault her on - I don't think it's that good myself.
A quick margarita recipe:
1 oz Espolon Tequila Blanco
3/4 oz Cointreau (Don't use cheap Triple Sec - use the real deal. You're using good tequila!)
1/2 oz fresh squeezed lime juice (NO ROSE'S LIME JUICE. NOT NOW NOT EVER)
1/2 oz simple syrup
Spread some kosher salt on a plate, and rub the rim of your glass with some of the lime juice.
Place the rim of the glass in the salt until you have a nice coating all around.
Mix all ingredients, fill glass with ice, and pour them in.
Viola! One delicious margarita :) Careful, they go down easy and hit hard!
Try Espolon - it's delicious tequila at a very reasonable price.
